Searching for rooms, messaging, and sending booking requests are completely free for students. Listing a property is free for landlords too. When a landlord collects rent through FellowFlats, a small platform fee applies to the landlord - never an extra charge to the student.

Instead of renting a whole unit, landlords list each bed in a shared room separately with its own price. You can see exactly how many beds are open in a room (for example, '1 of 2 available') and request just one bed.

FellowFlats is launching in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area and expanding across Canada. You can search by city or by university and college campus.

Students can verify their school email and landlords verify their phone and email to earn a verified badge, every stay can be reviewed by both sides, and any listing or profile can be reported to our moderation team.

You send a booking request to the landlord with an optional message and move-in date. The landlord approves or declines, and approvals are handled safely so a bed is never double-booked. Once your request is approved, you can pay your rent securely through FellowFlats.

After a landlord approves your booking, you can pay rent securely through FellowFlats using a debit or credit card. Payments are processed by Stripe, our payments partner, and your card details never touch our servers. FellowFlats then pays the landlord directly to their bank account. Landlords complete a quick one-time payout setup so they can receive rent this way.

Yes. Fill in your roommate preferences - sleep schedule, cleanliness, noise, and study habits - and FellowFlats shows a compatibility score against the people already living in a room.

Messaging stays inside the app, exact addresses are only approximated publicly until you connect, and you can export or delete your account data at any time from settings.
